Terms of use
The terms you agree to by using this website or holding a member account on it.
Who runs this site
This website is operated by the Mauritius Scout Association, incorporated under the Mauritius Scout Act 1976 and based at Baden Powell House, Trianon, Quatre Bornes. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Using the site
You agree not to:
- use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms MSA, its members or others;
- attempt to gain access to any part of the site, account or system you have not been given access to;
- interfere with the site’s operation — including introducing malicious code, or placing an unreasonable load on it through automated means;
- scrape or harvest personal data from the site, including the names and contact details of volunteers; or
- post or submit anything abusive, defamatory, or which infringes someone else’s rights.
Member accounts
Some parts of this site require an account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for what is done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to it.
Information you enter — including a Scout profile you create for a young person in your care — must be accurate, and you must have the authority to provide it. We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these terms, or where it is necessary to protect a young person.
How we handle the personal data in your account is set out in our privacy notice.
Content and copyright
The text, photographs, documents and design on this site belong to MSA or to the people who licensed them to us, except where stated. The Scout emblem and MSA’s name and badges are protected and may not be used without permission.
You may read, download and print material here for your own Scouting, personal or educational use, provided you do not alter it and you keep any credit that appears with it. Any other reuse — republishing, commercial use, or use that implies MSA endorses something — needs our written permission first. Ask at msa.admin@scoutsmauritius.org.
Links to other sites
We link to WOSM, government ministries, partner organisations and other Scout bodies because they are useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data. Their terms and privacy policies apply once you leave ours.
Accuracy and availability
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee either. Content here is provided for information: programme details, dates, fees and policies change, and the published policy documents are the authoritative version where this site summarises them.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the law of Mauritius. Subject to that, MSA is not liable for loss arising from use of, or inability to use, this site.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms as the site changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
These terms are governed by the law of Mauritius, and the courts of Mauritius have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
