Who we are
Founded in 1912 and incorporated under the Mauritius Scouts Act 1976, the Mauritius Scouts Association is a full member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement since 1971.
Who we are
Scouting in Mauritius started in 1912 with a group of friends forming a Scout patrol under the leadership of Samuel Blunt de Burgh Edwards.
The developing Scout troops formed the Mauritian Branch of The UK Scout Association. This branch consisted of different sub-associations, separated by faiths, decided to merge into a single national organisation to be reckoned by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). In so doing, the Mauritius Scouts Association (MSA) was incorporated under the Mauritius Scouts Act 1976 as a legal entity.
To-date, the MSA has over 4,100 members, youth and adults, both in Mauritius and Rodrigues.
The role of the MSA is to facilitate scout groups to accomplish the Mission and Vision of Scouting through the organisation of activities and continuous training of its volunteers.
The MSA encourages boys and girls to join in the nearest group in their vicinity irrespective of their race, religion, class and colour. Find hereunder, the different section relevant to the age groups:

The Cub Scout Pack
Inspired by the stories of The Jungle Book (Rudyard Kipling) weaves a strong connection between children the fauna and flora. This is the age of discovering things.
The Scout Troop
This is the age of experiencing things. Learning by doing. Mastering knots and gadgets making, exploring the different skills they have in them: artistic, logic, creativity, etc.
The Venture Scout Unit
The age of getting involved in the community they lived in. Participating in the different projects such as: cleaning the environment, animating debate, etc.
The Rover Scout Crew
The age of realising masterpieces. Developing and organising forums, debates, participating in conferences at national and international levels, participating in humanitarian actions when there are floods, cyclones, etc.
