Join Scouting

Pick the age section that fits, then register your interest on the Join Scouting page at https://www.scoutsmauritius.org/get-involved/join-scouting. Your regional commissioner receives the form and gets in touch to point you at a group near you. You can also find groups yourself under Regions & Groups, or email msa.admin@scoutsmauritius.org.

Scouting in Mauritius runs from 8 to 25, in four sections: Cubs (8–11), Scouts (12–15), Ventures (15–18), Rovers (18–25). Each section has its own programme, so a young person moves up rather than starting again.

Scouting is open to all young people aged 8 to 25, irrespective of race, religion, class or colour.

There is a modest annual membership fee. It is set locally, so ask the group you are joining — they will tell you what it covers and what else, if anything, is needed.

Groups meet weekly for games, skills and adventure, led by trained adult volunteers, with camps and regional activities through the year.

MSA follows a safeguarding policy and the World Organization of the Scout Movement's Safe from Harm standards, and adults in Scouting are trained and appointed under those rules. MSA is the national Scout association of Mauritius and Rodrigues, founded in 1912 and a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. It has 5,800+ members across 6 regions.
