Training Commission
Train and educate leaders to create active citizens through lifetime values, skills and empowerment.
What this commission does
The Training Commission exists to make sure that every adult leader in the Mauritius Scout Association has the right support, skills, knowledge, and opportunities to grow as a Scout leader. It serves adult members at every stage of their development—from those starting their journey to experienced leaders, trainers, and Wood Badge holders—by providing quality training, guidance, assessment, and recognition. Simply put, the Training Commission exists to help our people become better leaders so they can give young people a better Scouting experience.
- Train: Provide relevant training that gives Adult Volunteers the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to perform their roles effectively.
- Support: Make the training journey easier by supporting learners with registration, progress tracking, resources, logistics and guidance from start to finish.
- Validate: Assess and recognise that learners can actually apply what they have learned, using clear and consistent validation standards.
- Improve: Continuously review training needs, standards, programmes and the learning experience so that the quality of leadership—and ultimately the experience of young people—keeps getting better.
