International Commission
Connecting the Mauritius Scouts Association with the global Scouting Movement and supporting Scouts in international engagement and opportunities.
What this commission does
The International Commissioner serves as the link between the Mauritius Scouts Association and the wider international Scouting community. Working under the Chief Commissioner and as a voting member of the National Executive Committee, the Commissioner supports the Association’s relationship with WOSM, facilitates international exchanges, assists visiting Scouts and Leaders, and creates opportunities for Mauritian Scouts to participate in international Scouting experiences.
Its work covers four key areas:
- International Relations & Representation. Maintains and strengthens relationships with WOSM and recognised National Scout Organisations, manages international correspondence and supports the Association’s constitutional obligations towards the World Scout Movement.
- International Participation & Support. Assists Scouts and Leaders participating in approved international events, while providing letters of introduction and other support required for Scouts travelling abroad.
- International Events & Programmes. Promotes global Scouting through activities such as JOTA-JOTI, international exchanges and other international Scouting initiatives, while supporting local Scout Groups in participating in these opportunities.
- International Coordination & Information. Coordinates the International Committee and works with Assistant District Commissioners (International) and JOTA-JOTI Organisers to share international information, support visiting Scouts and Leaders, and ensure that opportunities from the global Scouting community reach our members.
