What this commission does
The National Finance Commissioner oversees the financial management of the Mauritius Scouts Association, ensuring that its resources are properly managed, accounted for and used sustainably to support the development of Scouting. Working under the Chief Commissioner, the Finance Commissioner coordinates financial planning, fundraising, budgeting, reporting, investments and audits while maintaining proper financial governance across the Association.
Its work covers four key areas:
- Financial Management & Governance. Oversees the Association’s accounts, financial records, payments, investments, insurance and banking operations while ensuring proper auditing and accountability.
- Budgeting & Reporting. Prepares monthly financial accounts, annual budget proposals and the Association’s balance sheet, providing accurate financial information to the National Executive Committee and Mauritius Scout Council.
- Fundraising & Resource Mobilization. Leads the Fund Raising Committee and coordinates the management of grants, subsidies, donations, fundraising income and other financial resources to support Scouting activities and development.
- Assets & Financial Coordination. Supervises property and building-related finances, maintains an up-to-date inventory of Headquarters assets and works closely with Assistant District Commissioners responsible for Finance.
