National Commissions
Communication & PR
We are the voice, tell its story, protect its image, connect it with society, and ensure that the impact of the Movement is seen, understood, and remembered
The aim of the commission is to promote and publicize Mauritius Scouts Association's activities and scouting activities done by its members in Mauritius & Rodrigues at local, regional and international level, while preserving the brand and image of the Scout Movement.
1. 📢 Promote the Scout Movement
Showcase what Scouting does, its values, programmes, achievements, and contribution to society.
2. 📱 Manage communication
Ensure that information reaches Scouts, leaders, parents, partners, and the public through the right channels — social media, website, newsletters, publications, videos, etc.
3. 📰 Develop media relations
Build strong relationships with journalists and media organizations and ensure that Scouting receives accurate and positive media coverage.
4. 🎥 Tell the Scout story
Transform activities and projects into compelling stories through photography, videography, interviews, articles, reels, and other forms of storytelling.
5. 🏛️ Protect the Association's image and reputation
Ensure that the Scout brand is used correctly and consistently and help manage communication during sensitive situations or crises.
6. 🤝 Build partnerships and visibility
Help position Scouting as a credible youth organization by communicating its impact to government, NGOs, private companies, international organisations, communities, and potential sponsors.
7. 🌍 Give young people a voice
Promote youth participation by allowing young Scouts to share their ideas, experiences, achievements, and perspectives.
8. 📊 Support internal communication
Make sure important information flows effectively between the National Executive Committee, National Commissioners, districts, Scout groups, leaders, and members.
9. 🧭 Preserve the history of Scouting
Create and maintain a professional archive of photographs, videos, publications, campaigns, events, and major achievements so that the Association's history is not lost.
10. 🚀 Modernise Scouting's communication
Keep the Movement relevant to today's young people by using modern digital platforms, creative content, storytelling, technology, and innovative communication strategies.
