MAURITIUS SCOUTS ASSOCIATION

MSA - End of Year Message 2023

End of Year End of Year 2023 Message United as one Scout family My dear brothers and sisters in scouting, I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude and a profound sense of privilege as the Deputy Chief Scout of the Mauritius Scouts Association, to address you this End-of-Year 2023 Message. I am truly thankful for the trust you have placed in me to assume this important position within our Association. It is my commitment to serve the Mauritius Scouts Association with utmost dignity, engaging in open dialogue with each and every member. Throughout my mandate, I will maintain the principles of impartiality, transparency, and good governance, ensuring that these values remain the foundation of our Association. In this challenging task that lies ahead, I sincerely seek the support of each and every one of you. Together, as a united scouting family, we can overcome any obstacles that may come on our way and continue to succeed. “United we stand divided we fall” I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the members of our Association, the dedicated Group Scout Leaders, the National Executive Committee, and the National Scout Board for their firm commitment and hard work throughout the year. Your contributions are the driving force behind the success of our Association. As we look towards the future, let us offer our support to the new National Executive Committee (NEC) Members and the Scout Board Members, providing them the encouragement and guidance they need to do their best in their respective roles. The implementation of the new scout program and the ongoing efforts to provide high-quality training to our leaders next year are crucial steps towards the betterment of scouting. As we focus on the growth of our movement, we will continue to offer firm support to existing scout groups and foster an environment that encourages the creation of new group where scouting is not present. I am delighted that our Mauritian delegation has participated with pride in the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea and our active involvement in the Indian Ocean Zonal Conference in Seychelles. The visit of Jacques Sandrizi Ubukandi from the World Scout Bureau - Africa Support Centre was a momentous occasion, reinforcing our connections on the African continent. Furthermore, I am happy to share the news that four members of our NSO have been nominated as WOSM consultants for the Africa Region this year, this shows the expertise and dedication of our members within our Association. Bravo... In my role as Deputy Chief Scout, I am open to any suggestions or recommendations that you may have for the betterment of our scouts and leaders. Your input is invaluable, and the door is open to each and every one of you without distinction. I encourage you to actively engage in the dialogue for the continuous improvement of our association and offers quality scouting to our members. As we approach the festive season, I extend my warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024. May the scouting spirit continue to guide us, and may the new year 2024 bring happiness, joy and prosperity, for each member of our scouting family. God bless you all. Long live the Mauritius Scouts Association. Thanking you. Yours in scouting Yusuf IMRIT Deputy Chief Scout Mauritius Scouts Association
